Since our public launch in September, a number of Google Chrome users, a number of issues, our installation and update process. We tried to answer most of them in our Help Center, but because many of you may not visit the Help Center, this post attempts to provide some background, in-depth understanding of our current installation and update process.
When we began to explore ways for our installer, we made a number of clear objectives:
● With the new browser vulnerability appeared on a regular basis, allowing users to check out the burden of security updates.
● Non-administrators who allow users to install Google Chrome.
● Allow updates occur automatically in the background, even if Google Chrome is in use. The next time you open Google Chrome, it can simply start using the latest version.
● As the smallest user interface (UI) of the Google Chrome to limit or eliminate, as far as possible the installation interface.
● Update should be as small as possible. There is a security patch is a small, quick download and should not be the need for a complete installation.
● Uninstall should clean and made clear the changes in Google Chrome, as far as possible.
After reading the available options, we found that no one will give us all things, we hope, we have decided to write our own installation process.
Installation
We believe that the installation of Google Chrome has been made very simple. When you run the installer, not the screen, jumping or confusing options. And you install the first time the UI window, allows you to enter data from your current default browser. Some people (especially those who use Windows XP, not Windows Vista's) confused by the choice of our installed in the user profile directory under program files. There are several reasons, we choose the user profile directory:

In Windows Vista does not have any safety tips during the installation process. If you are running as a non-elevated Administrator, you can still install Google Chrome, without having to enter an administrator password. Update
Google Chrome automatically updates itself with the help of Google update, Google is also used in other products, including Google, dialogue, gear, and Google Earth plug-ins. Use Google to update means that we can use existing services, has to take care of many problems in the auto-update:
